Tips: Spark plug inspection
The spark plug removed by the spark plug socket does not necessarily to be replaced to a new one. The specific situation should be judged by checking the condition of the spark plug.

Check the working condition of the spark plug.
- Check the appearance of the spark plug. If there is damage or obvious defect, replace a new spark plug by spark plug socket.
- If there are carbon deposits or black oil stains on the spark plug, clean it up and replace with a new spark plug if necessary.
- If other abnormal phenomena such as blackening and glaze formation are found on the spark plug, it should be cleaned and replaced with a new spark plug if necessary.
Check and adjust the spark plug electrode gap.
The electrode gap of the spark plug can generally be adjusted from 0.7 to 0.9mm. The spark plug electrode gap varies with different vehicle models, it can be found in the vehicle manual. If the spark plug electrode gap is too small, the spark plug flashover energy becomes weak and the electrode is easily ablated. If the spark plug electrode gap is too large, the engine is prone to misfire when the engine is running at high speed.
- The spark plug electrode gap can be measured with a feeler gauge.
- If the spark plug electrode gap does not meet the requirements, it should be adjusted. When adjusting the gap, only adjust the side electrode, not the center electrode, so as not to damage the insulator.
- When the gap of the spark plug is too large, use the screwdriver handle to tap the side electrode to adjust, but do not use too much force, otherwise the side electrode may be damaged due to excessive bending. If the gap is too small, insert a flat-head screwdriver between the electrodes. Turn the screw to adjust the gap to the specified value.
