Application

Tips: How to use a feeler gauge

  1. Clean the Feeler Gauge: Use a clean cloth to wipe the measurement surface of the feeler gauge. Do not perform the measurement if the feeler gauge is contaminated with dirt or metal shavings, as this will affect the accuracy of the measurement.
  2. Insert the Feeler Gauge into the Gap: Insert the feeler gauge into the measured gap, moving it back and forth. If you feel slight resistance, it indicates that the gap is close to the value marked on the feeler gauge. If the resistance is too high or too low while moving, it means the gap is smaller or larger than the value marked on the feeler gauge.
  3. Measure and Adjust the Gap: When measuring and adjusting the gap, first select the feeler gauge that matches the specified gap. Insert it into the gap, then adjust while pulling the feeler gauge back and forth until you feel slight resistance. Tighten the locking nut at this point, and the value marked on the feeler gauge will represent the measured gap.
