Tips: Why did my smoke detector go off but there’s no fire or smoke?

There are several reasons why a smoke detector might go off without the presence of fire or smoke. Here are some common causes:

If you were cooking or frying food, the steam, heat, or fine particles from the food might have triggered the smoke alarm.
